Igor Correia

Igor Correia is a composer based in Toronto, Canada. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sound Production from Universidade Federal do Parana (Brazil), and a Master’s degree in Music Composition from the University of Toronto where he studied with Christos Hatzis. He was the 2008 winner of the prestigious Karen Kieser Prize in Canadian Music and his music has been performed by the Sneak Peek Orchestra, the TorQ Percussion Quartet, and the Madawaska String Quartet, among many others. Moreover, he also writes music for media, including film, television, advertising and video-games. Recently, he was selected to participate in the Screen Composers Guild of Canada’s “Emerging Composer – Filmmaker Match up 2011″ where his score was recorded by a live orchestra at the CBC’s Glenn Gould Studio. Currently, he is one of the composers and music editors for an audio post production house in Toronto.
